Map of Crete

For new tourists, a map of the island can be helpful in planning activities, or just for seeing where they are going to be located on their Crete holidays.

Many holiday makers will choose destinations without much knowledge of the town or village where they are headingand a map of Crete can be helpful.

Shown is the airport for you to be able to judge how far it is from there to your accommodation – there are a good number of flights available, and often there are good deals to be found for Crete flights

One of the many good things about the island is that for holiday accommodation visitors are spoiled for choice.

While some go for traditional hotels, there are a good number of people who choose villa holidays as well.

Also there are some bargain hotel prices to be had at the moment for various Crete hotels and these can be booked either seperately or as part of a package – check the Crete map above to see where they are located.

For those who prefer their independence, pool and facilities there’s a good range of Crete villas available with James Villas

The most popular time for a visit to the island is between late March and mid October, and all the main holiday resorts on a map of Crete are open then, and the weather is normally really good.

The hottest months are July and August, and normally the most expensive for flights and hotels, but the weather can be even better in the second half of May, June and September. The Crete weather helps make it what it is for holidaymakers, and they know when they look at a Crete map that unless they’re really unlucky the sunshine will be waiting for them.

When you get out a Crete map and look where to go and are considering a villa holiday, it’s worthwhile looking for one with a pool – but if you have young children remember this might not be suitable and due consideration should be given whether a villa holiday is appropriate.

A good time to visit for Crete villa holidays is June when the rates are lower than the peak summer months of July and August – but this is true of most Mediterranean locations, including for example when you look at the prices for Majorca villa holidays
